Rosstandart, as part of an unscheduled inspection at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, found that Istok-manufactured trucks of the Istok model range 4749D modification 4749DT category N1 do not meet certain mandatory requirements. The agency decided to suspend the production of these trucks.
We inform you about the suspension of the release into circulation and circulation of Istok trucks of the 4749D type, modification 4749DT category N1 in connection with the suspension of the type approval of vehicles.
The agency noted that the recorded violations pose a threat to the health and lives of both the drivers of vehicles and other road users, including pedestrians, and also mislead the end buyers of vehicles.
In particular, experts have identified an artificial underestimation of the maximum permissible weight to 3,500 kg, which entails the possibility of transporting cargo weighing only 150 kg by a category N2 truck, although such a truck actually carries cargo up to 7 tons.
The agency demanded that Istok eliminate the violations, suspend the sale of such vehicles, and develop programs of measures to prevent harm, which the manufacturer failed to implement.
According to preliminary information, 29 such trucks have already been sold in Russia; previously, under another similar type approval, about 100 vehicles of the Istok brand, type 4749D, were sold.
