KamAZ has handed over two KAMAZ-54901 LNG (liquefied natural gas) tractor units of the K5 line to the ITECO logistics company for trial operation, the automaker's press service said.
The tractors will transport containers with cargo for two months.
KAMAZ-54901 is a gas-powered version of the flagship of the K5 generation. In this modification, the car is equipped with a KAMAZ P6 gas engine (Euro-5) with a capacity of 460 hp, an automatic transmission and two cryogenic tanks with a capacity of 1060 liters of LNG.
The use of LNG can significantly reduce the owner's fuel costs with a range of up to 1600 km on a single refueling. Production of the gas-powered version of the car started in September 2024.
In 2024, KamAZ produced the first 200 tractors of this modification. The production plan for the current year is more than 700 units.
