Mass production of AvtoVAZ's newest model, Lada Iskra, has started in Togliatti. It is made in "SKP Kalina", side by side with Lada Granta.
For the new family, AvtoVAZ and its subcontractors have mastered the production of 1000 new components and parts, more than 400 of which have been re-engineered due to Renault's departure.
Sanctions delayed the release of Lada Iskra by 3 years — it was originally supposed to be put on the assembly line in 2022. The localization of Iskra production is about 90%, the remaining 10% are parts from friendly or neutral countries (China, India, Uzbekistan).
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ launches mass production of Lada Iskra from April 19.
