AvtoVAZ announced at the presentation of the latest Lada Iskra model in Tolyatti that sales of the car will begin on July 20. From this date, dealers will start offering the car to customers.
At the presentation, one of the non-obvious design features of Iskra became known: the front frame is attached to the body with bolts.
This decision was a big step forward compared to Granta, which has a welded frame. The bolted part is easy to remove, which simplifies maintenance and repair of the car.
Iskra will be offered in the following engine modifications: 1.6 L (90 hp) + 5MT. 1.6 L (106 hp) + 6MT. 1.6 L (106 hp) + continuously variable transmission. The overall length of the sedan is 4333 mm, the station wagon is 4342 mm. Configurations and prices have not yet been disclosed.
Assembly Lada Iskra will be carried out on the same assembly line as Granta. The body welding shop is completely new, it is equipped with 17 automatic lines and 112 robots.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ launches mass production of Lada Iskra from April 19.
