Specialists of the Volsk Military Institute of Material Support have developed a new ground logistics drone "Volchanin" with a lifting capacity of 500 kg. This was reported by "Krasnaya Zvezda".
The device, which can evacuate the wounded and deliver supplies, is already undergoing testing by the military. At the moment, the institute, in cooperation with the Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant, has manufactured the first four platforms.
The new ground vehicle with the digital control system "Korshun", also developed by employees of the branch, is a platform weighing 600 kg and with a range of up to 30 km.
The drone is equipped with a pair of silent electric motors with a capacity of 5.5 kilowatts, allowing it to move a trailer with a load weighing 950 kg. Battery capacity — 16 kilowatt-hours.
A digital control system with a remote antenna or a drone repeater operating at a distance of up to 10 kilometers is used to operate the platform.
