The large-assembly production line of UAZ "Patriot" has started operating in Cuba. The cost of the car for the local market is 29 thousand dollars, including taxes.
Production in Havana was created from scratch by the plant's distributor "Ekho-Export" and the Cuban company EISA.
The Cuban site will reach its design capacity of 500 cars per year by September 2025. At maximum load, the plant will be able to produce up to 1,500 all-terrain vehicles per year.
However, the sales plan is smaller so far - about 350-500 UAZ SUVs per year. In the future, UAZ "Profi" commercial vans will be registered in Cuba, but there is no talk of producing "Bukhankas", although the model may also be in demand.
