AvtoVAZ shows for the first time how Lada cars are painted: unique video from factory workshops

Before painting, the body is thoroughly cleaned of oily deposits and grinding dust

A video demonstrating the preparation and painting process of Lada bodies on AvtoVAZ assembly lines was published on the "At the Factory" channel page on the VKontakte social network.

Evgeny Lutsenko, Deputy Director for Body Painting Production at the Togliatti auto giant, said that the painting process is a complex technological procedure consisting of many stages.

First of all, the skeleton of the car is fixed on a chain conveyor in the welding shop. The surface of the body is thoroughly cleaned of grinding dust and oily deposits, which allows for preparatory work, including phosphating and washing by immersion in a special bath.

Then the body is subjected to cataphoretic priming, after which sealing and noise-insulating materials are applied to it.

Before painting, the car is covered with a secondary primer, and then with a colorless varnish to give more shine and protect the paintwork from fading.

The last point before sending the painted part to the assembly shop is the final polishing of all elements, during which the masters identify all possible defects and eliminate them immediately.
