The ship Tamal is undergoing the final stage of sea trials

Footage has emerged online of the frigate Tamal, project 11356 code "Burevestnik", built by Russia for the Indian Navy. The warship is in the final stage of sea trials.

According to preliminary data, the vessel was filmed at the Baltic Naval Base of the Russian Navy.

It was previously reported that Tamal would be handed over to the Indian side in the spring of 2025. The ship was originally laid down for the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

About Project 11356:

In October 2018, Rosoboronexport signed a contract with Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) worth about $500 million to assist in the construction of two Russian Project 11356 frigates for the Indian Navy at GSL, with the transfer of licenses and technologies by the Russian side.

The multipurpose frigate of Project 11356 has a balanced set of weapons for a relatively small displacement, allowing it to reliably cover escorted ships from attacks by air, surface, and underwater adversaries.
