Journalists added that effective attack submarines can help establish dominance at sea, hindering the actions of the enemy's surface fleet.

The armament of the "Yasen-M" project includes vertical silo launchers for launching Oniks and Kalibr cruise missiles; submarines can also be equipped with hypersonic Zircon missiles. The main armament of Project 636.3 submarines is the Kalibr-PL missile system.
