Штраф за мат в интернете предложили увеличить в 10 раз

The State Duma believes that current fines for obscene language are minimal and do not deter the use of profanity online.

The State Duma has proposed increasing the fine for obscene language in public places and online by 10 times. Deputy Alexander Aksenenko has initiated amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses to increase fines for the use of profanity in public places and online from 1,000 to 10,000 rubles.

Currently, the use of obscene language in public places is considered petty hooliganism, which is punishable by a fine of 500 to 1,000 rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.

Aksenenko emphasized that the issue will be discussed in working groups and committees of the State Duma. He also stated that a significant increase in fines is planned for legal entities that organize concerts by performers who use obscene language in their works.

The deputy expressed regret that there is currently a gap in the legislation, as a result of which event organizers are not responsible for artists who use obscene language in their performances.

Earlier, the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation proposed introducing new fines for organizations that repeatedly allow personal data breaches. According to the proposed changes, the fine for legal entities will be from 1% to 3% of their annual turnover. For officials, the amount of fines will range from 800 thousand to 1.2 million rubles.
