Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko launched the UAZ assembly plant in Cuba and personally drove the car. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet is in the republic on a working visit.
Chernyshenko personally inspected the car assembly line and supervised the first congress of domestic transport manufactured in Havana. The Deputy Prime Minister also drove a UAZ around the production area.
We can assemble six cars a day here. Six cars a day, 22 working days, for 12 months - that's about 1,500 cars.
The approximate price of the car is about 29 thousand dollars, including all taxes, the cars are assembled from Russian parts. The project is scheduled to reach its design capacity in September 2025.
