Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko launched the UAZ assembly plant in Cuba and personally drove the car. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet is in the republic on a working visit.
Chernyshenko personally inspected the car assembly line and supervised the first congress of domestic transport manufactured in Havana. The Deputy Prime Minister also drove a UAZ around the production area.
We can assemble six cars a day here simultaneously. Six cars a day, 22 working days, for 12 months — that's about 1,500 cars.
The approximate price of the car is about 29 thousand dollars, including all taxes; the cars are assembled from Russian parts. The project is scheduled to reach its design capacity in September 2025.
