The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (TsNIITOCHMASH, part of the Kalashnikov concern) has supplied the Russian military with "Zavet-D" individual protection systems (IPS) against enemy high-precision weapons.
The "Zavet-D" IPS is a completely domestic product that was developed and manufactured at TsNIITOCHMASH. The system is designed for optical-electronic suppression of guidance systems of attacking guided munitions on a target.
The IPS includes attack warning sensors, control equipment, a wind sensor, and an aerosol curtain system. The system automatically responds to the laser illumination of high-precision weapons and fires an aerosol charge towards the threat.
As a result, the resulting aerosol cloud disrupts the control of the attacking projectile in the visible, infrared, and radar wavelength ranges: the sprayed fine particles distort radio waves and blind the optical-electronic guidance systems of enemy ammunition.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Votkinsk Plant" was left without a new CNC machine.
