The future Lada Iskra has been found to have safety issues. The defect was discovered in the passenger airbag in the front seat, which does not deploy correctly. This was reported by a former AvtoVAZ engineer.
I don't know exactly what happened, because this information was not even brought to the attention of the top management of AvtoVAZ, because it had already set a date for mass production and reported to journalists that everything was OK. I only know that the documentation for the 61st group of GFE for the car is not ready at all (this is a group of security systems), and a dangerous defect was discovered when the passenger airbag was triggered.
The car is scheduled to go into production on April 19 this year. It is unlikely that problems of this kind will be fixed completely by then. However, the former AvtoVAZ engineer believes that the already approved date for the start of mass production of the Iskra will not be postponed.
As a reminder, on March 13, the manufacturer reported on the successful testing of Lada Iskra.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ had not frozen mass production of the new product.
