Более 150 млрд рублей потребуется для развития судоремонта в Арктике и на Дальнем Востоке

USC is ready to consider expanding its capabilities for shipowners in the regions

The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) discussed the shortage of ship repair facilities in the country at the site of the Russian Chamber of Shipping, and also pointed out the current problems of the industry.

According to Vostokgosplan, about 30% of ships are currently being repaired in the country. To increase this share, it is necessary to implement large-scale projects for the construction and development of new docks and ship repair facilities.

According to preliminary estimates, about 153 billion rubles of investments will be required for these purposes in the Arctic and Far Eastern regions. As a result, by 2035, the number of repairs that can be carried out per year should increase several times – up to 430, and the number of docks – from 14 to 36.

In addition to the fact that USC has its own service facilities, we are ready to consider expanding our capabilities for shipowners. We want to not just build ships and let them go on a free voyage, but also be on their entire life and operational cycle.
Kirill Toropov, Deputy General Director of USC for Civil Shipbuilding

Earlier www1.ru reported that USC, due to lack of money, canceled the purchase of the Zvezda shipyard.
