Return Not Ruled Out, But Not in the Near Future: Renault Not in Talks with AvtoVAZ

Negotiations on Renault's return to the shareholders of AvtoVAZ are not underway, but such a possibility is not excluded. This was stated by Sergey Chemezov, head of the Rostec company.

Resumption of cooperation remains in question. "If they agree to this," Chemezov said when asked about Renault's possible return to the capital of the Russian automaker.

Earlier, Maxim Sokolov stated that if Renault wants to buy back its stake in AvtoVAZ, an assessment of the investment volumes is needed (the contribution of the state and the enterprise itself over the past time). Later it was said that there could be no question of the return of the car concern.

Renault owned a stake in AvtoVAZ until 2022. The assets of the car concern were sold in Russia for 1 ruble against the background of the changing economic situation.
