The Russian multirole fighter Su-30SME possesses high combat power due to the significant mass of its combat load and is capable of effectively overcoming air defense zones. Rosoboronexport revealed the key characteristics of the combat vehicle.
Super-maneuverability provides the aircraft with superiority over the air enemy in close maneuvering air combat, the exporting company noted.
The integral aerodynamic configuration, combined with controlled thrust vectoring, provides the aircraft with high takeoff and landing performance and excellent maneuverability. The Su-30SME is capable of performing a number of unique maneuvers used to repel missile attacks and gain superiority in close combat.
The power plant consists of two AL-31FP turbofan double-circuit engines with afterburners. The total thrust at full afterburner of 25,000 kgf ensures horizontal flight at a speed of 1.75 Mach.
The Su-30SME's combat load, with a total weight of up to 8,000 kg, is placed on 12 hardpoints. The aircraft is capable of using a wide range of guided and unguided weapons, including advanced R-77-1 missiles.
