19FortyFive called the sale of Su-35 fighters to China a mistake

In 2015, China purchased 24 Su-35 fighters from Russia for $2.5 billion

The deal to sell Su-35 fighters to China in 2015 is the main mistake of the Russian aircraft industry. Chris Osborne made this statement in an article for 19FortyFive.

The journalist recalled that under the agreement worth 2.5 billion dollars, China received 24 aircraft.

China may not have actually been interested in "flying the acquired Su-35s, but simply borrowed the technology for its growing air fleet. Acquiring more foreign technology is consistent with China's well-known equipment modernization tactics.

The author suggested that the Su-35 could have been used to study modern technologies used in the Russian fighter. In particular, the combat aircraft is equipped with a modern electronic warfare system, the "Irbis-E" radar, and engines with thrust vectoring.
