A new production line will be created at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant for assembling Sollers ST9 pickups, which will be based on the Chinese JAC T9 model, as well as an SUV developed on the same platform.
Earlier it became known that UAZ is preparing to launch the production of a seven-seater frame SUV under the Sollers brand, which will be assembled in a full cycle, including welding and painting of bodies and frames.
The new Russian SUV will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 200 hp, paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The model will be based on a frame structure with all-wheel drive.
Although the Sollers ST9 has Chinese origins, its design uses solutions from well-known Japanese manufacturers. For example, the frame and front suspension of the pickup are unified with the Toyota Hilux, which gives the model a high degree of reliability.
The entire process of assembling Sollers ST9 pickups and SUVs based on them will be organized on a specially created production line at UAZ.
