The "Northern Sea" company will manufacture two BK-350 boom reels for the operator of a large industrial complex in the port of Ust-Luga. This was reported by the press service of the "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" military-industrial holding, KMZ.
The BK-350 boom reel is designed for storing, deploying and removing any type of boom.
The BK-350 consists of a frame, a reel and a hydraulic drive. It can be operated on shore and on ships at temperatures from –15 to +65 C°.
Application of boom reels
Boom reels are designed for temporary or permanent storage and transportation of booms, as well as for deploying booms on water. BK-350 are compatible with boom of any type:
- heavy marine
- permanent buoyancy
- absorbing
Booms are used in case of oil spills to localize spots and trawl them to the place of sorption. During timber rafting, the equipment is used to direct the movement of trees along the water.
