Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has introduced new rotary tables on the body shop conveyor.
The update is related to the expansion of the model range: along with UAZ cars, Sollers pickups are also produced on the line. The increase in production volumes required lengthening the conveyor.
The modernization allowed for an increase in production line volumes. Now two rotary tables operate simultaneously. This speeds up the workflow.
Previously, the body was rotated 180 degrees on the platform and moved along the rails to the opposite side of the conveyor. Now, two rotary tables perform simultaneous rotation, which allows the platform with the body to move to another line at the moment of their connection.
At the end of January, UAZ also launched an updated painting complex. The company began using high-tech robots to prime bodies in two layers.
