"Yandex" has introduced an update to the "Maps" application in Turkey. Now, users can take advantage of all the familiar navigation features of the service while traveling to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and other cities in the country.
To prepare for a trip and plan it in advance, you can use thematic collections of places in "Yandex Maps". They will help you choose a suitable restaurant for dinner, suggest which museums to visit, and also advise you on where to try kebabs or Turkish coffee.
Currently, more than 30 collections in Russian are available for Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya. You can find them on the main screen by simply hovering over the city map.
You can also use the updated street panoramas. More than 16,000 kilometers of new street and urban infrastructure images have appeared in Istanbul and Ankara.
To make it easier for users to navigate in key cities of Turkey, "Yandex Maps" has updated public transport schemes. Now, the service marks more than 51,000 stops throughout the country. The maps will show the route taking into account more than 2,000 public transport routes, including options on sea ferries in Istanbul and Izmir.
Detailed floor plans of 110 shopping centers and the country's five largest airports – in Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and Antalya – have appeared in the app. Now you can easily find the store, escalator or departure gate you need.
For those who like to travel by car, "Maps" offers more than 500,000 parking spaces and convenient drop-off points near popular tourist sites. For example, near Istanbul's main airport, you can choose one of ten such points. Just specify where exactly you want to go – to the arrival area, departure area, or to a specific parking lot – and "Maps" will create a route that will take you there.
Earlier, the "Yandex" team announced the creation of a new business line, which will combine all developments in the field of autonomous transport under the Yandex B2B Tech brand.
