Construction of the Shelepiha gas pipeline duct has begun under the Moscow River. This was announced by the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin.
The gas pipeline will connect Bolshaya Filevskaya Street with the Shelepiha embankment. This will improve the reliability of gas supply to the central and western parts of the city.
A high-pressure steel pipe is laid in a special casing - this protects it from external influences. Domestic materials with a service life of more than 40 years are used.
The main part of the gas pipeline duct will pass at a depth of more than 10 meters. The microtunneling method is used for construction (without noise, trench digging and harm to the environment).
Earlierwww1.ru reported that "Roselectronika"developed an infrared camera for detecting methane leaks in gas pipelines.
