The word "rendezvous" ranks third among the most popular passwords for accounts in Russia. In the first place remain "йцукен" and "пароль", according to a study by the DLBI vulnerability and data leak intelligence service.
According to Andrey Arsentiev, head of analytics and special projects at the InfoWatch Group's expert analytical center, the inclusion of the password "rendezvous" in the top three can be explained by a major leak of credentials from the Rendez Vous store.
The number of personal data leaks is growing every year, but the situation with password complexity has not changed since 2017. The top 10 most popular passwords in the world and among Russian domain zones still include such simple combinations as 123456, 123456789, qwerty, qwerty123 and password.
The situation is similar among Cyrillic passwords: as before, the ten most popular include "йцукен", "пароль", "любовь", "привет", "наташа", "максим", "марина", "люблю", "андрей" and "кристина".
According to Anton Averyanov, CEO of ST IT Group, creating such passwords is very easy. He noted that the combination 1234 is easily typed with the most comfortable four fingers, and "йцук" or "йцуке" are qwer and qwert in the Russian layout.
Earlier, Alexander Bleznekov, head of strategy development for information security at the IT integrator Telecom Exchange, said that secure passwords should include 12–16 different characters or a combination of words.
