Yandex team announced the creation of a new business direction. It will combine all developments in the field of autonomous transport under the Yandex B2B Tech brand.
Sergey Melnik will be the head of the new division. He was responsible for "Alice" and "smart" devices. Valery Stromov will take his place in the management of "Alice".
By focusing on autonomous transport, the Yandex team plans to accelerate the development and implementation of its technologies in the commercial sector. The company emphasized that their developments have long ceased to be simple experiments.
Yandex recalled that since the fall of 2024, autonomous trucks have begun to carry out commercial transportation on public roads. Robot delivery services are already available in several Russian cities.
Within Yandex B2B Tech, the team will be able to more effectively integrate autonomous solutions with other Yandex business products, the company believes.
