Telegram messenger has started testing a paid messages and comments feature, which could become a new monetization opportunity for group and channel owners.
The new option will allow users to send paid messages in both personal chats and groups, with the income from payments going to the chat owners, not Telegram itself.
The feature is already available for testing on a special messenger server, but only to a limited number of users. Group owners and interlocutors will be able to activate this option on their own. Paid message settings may vary depending on the type of chat. At the same time, the developers do not specify whether a one-time payment option for each message or a subscription to access content will be implemented.
Telegram is also testing a paid comments feature, which can be used in public groups linked to channels. This will allow administrators to monetize discussions under their publications.
