The «High-Precision Systems» holding (part of Rostec) is modernizing the B05Ya01 «Berezhok» combat modules to combat surface kamikaze boats in the Black Sea. However, the systems will need additional cover from kamikaze drones, said military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He noted that the unmanned boat Magura-V5, which poses a danger to ships in the Black Sea, also carries kamikaze drones on board, including those with fiber-optic control.
Therefore, the stationary combat modules «Berezhok-B/S» should be covered by turret anti-aircraft machine gun mounts based on GShG-7.62 machine guns, as well as UAV counteraction groups with self-loading 12-gauge carbines with shrapnel bullets.
The analyst added that thanks to the «Sodema» sight, the «Berezhok» crew is able to detect BEC in favorable weather conditions with weak sea waves at a distance of up to 2.5-3.5 km at night.
