The Forpost-RU unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) will be equipped with loitering munitions and small-sized AESA X-band side-looking radar (SLR) radar stations. This was reported by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the developers are expanding the combat capabilities of the Forpost-RU complex by improving its design and installing new payloads.
The UAV may receive the function of dropping loitering munitions. It can be assumed that they may become modifications of the Lancet-3. Currently, the Forpost, in its strike version, can carry Kh-UAV guided missiles or KAB-20 guided bombs or UPAAB-50S gliding bombs.
The developers have also created a version of the Forpost with a radar complex based on an X-band AESA. It can carry out radar reconnaissance of ground and surface objects, classify moving targets, and issue target designations for units of the Missile Troops and Artillery and the Black Sea Fleet's 3M14T/K Kalibr-NK/PL.
The complex has received new payloads that have expanded its range of application. Various payloads are installed on the Forpost, allowing monitoring in both optical, radio, and radar ranges, as well as the use of aviation weapons.
Earlier www1.ru reported that T-72B3M tanks received serial active protection Arena-M for the first time.
