Flight tests continue under the modernization and import substitution program for the Tu-214LL aircraft. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Mechanization of the Wing."
The Tu-214LL aircraft with tail number 64509 performed a flight on February 21. It took off from the airfield of the Kazan Aviation Plant, and the main flight area covered the airspace of the Republic of Mordovia and the Ryazan Region.
The aircraft was manufactured in Kazan in 2006 and sent for storage in 2015. In June 2024, after restoring its airworthiness, the aircraft made its first flight and then went to Minsk for repainting. After returning to Kazan, it was modernized, replacing imported components with Russian counterparts.
Flight tests of the Tu-214LL include verifying the interaction of new Russian systems with the existing aircraft equipment.
The maximum range of the Tu-214LL is over 7,000 km, and at full load it can carry passengers up to 5,200 km. The Tu-214 has a modern cabin for 194 passengers, rescue and navigation equipment, and meets all current global requirements.
