Russian entrepreneurs at the RSPP Financial Forum in Moscow discussed a resolution proposing to allow businesses to use cryptocurrencies for professional securities market participants and qualified investors.
The document stipulates that market participants could issue their own digital currencies under the supervision of the Bank of Russia. In addition, it is proposed to include "crypto" and digital financial assets in unit investment funds.
Andrey Stoyanov, Head of Cryptocurrency and Settlements at the Delcredere Bar Association, stated that although the Central Bank traditionally adheres to a cautious stance towards cryptocurrencies, it is already working with them within the framework of an experimental legal regime. In his opinion, the proposals of the forum participants are in line with international practice and are aimed at developing the financial market, increasing the country's investment attractiveness, and simplifying international settlements.
