The Chinese auto concern Chery continues to rebrand its cars on the Russian market: following the appearance of the Tenet brand, under which Chery models will now be sold, a new Esteo brand will appear in Russia, which may replace Exeed.
The "Automotive Plant of the Moscow Region" (the former Mercedes-Benz plant in Esipovo) received Vehicle Type Approvals (OTTS) for three models of the Esteo brand - 41T, 51M and 33T. It is assumed that the new indexes hide Exeed models that are already being produced at this enterprise.
Rebranding Exeed cars is the next step in reducing the connection with the Chinese origin of brands against the background of sanctions pressure. A similar process has already occurred with Chery cars, which will now be produced under the Tenet brand at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga.
