The new export tank T-90MS, manufactured by Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec), has received multi-level protection of the turret, upper hemisphere, and hull from kamikaze drones and anti-tank missiles.
The defense system of the combat vehicle includes all-aspect protection of the hull and turret, additional dynamic protection (DZ) containers on the stern and nose of the hull, and protection against drones in the upper hemisphere of the tank.
It is also possible to install electronic warfare (EW) equipment and the Arena-E active protection system (KAZ) developed by the High-Precision Systems holding. The radar station detects an approaching enemy projectile, and a special shrapnel munition is fired towards it. As it approaches the striking element, it detonates and hits it with its fragments.
The T-90M Proryv tank has already demonstrated that it successfully withstands numerous hits from missiles and drones.
In turn, the Leopard 2, Challenger 2, and M1 Abrams tanks do not even have dynamic protection, which makes them defenseless against any shaped-charge ammunition, not to mention modern missiles and grenades with a tandem warhead.
