Russian engineers have developed an armored ATZ-8 fuel tanker for the military, protecting the crew and cargo from bullets and fragments.
The vehicle on the "Ural" platform can withstand direct fire from small arms, as well as protect people and fuel from fragments of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
The vehicle received removable armor elements that cover the cabin and tank. The ATZ-8 holds eight cubic meters of fuel.
Also, ATZ-1.5-236022 automobile fuel tankers with a capacity of 1.5 "cubic meters", capable of covertly and quickly refueling up to three units of weapons and military equipment, are widely used in the troops.
In addition, support units use adapted refueling equipment, such as buggies. Where even a small-sized one-and-a-half-cubic-meter tanker cannot pass, a high- проходимый buggy with a trailer takes up the challenge, from the tank of which it is possible to covertly and quickly refuel several vehicles at once.
