Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant conducted winter tests of diesel UAZ Profi vehicles in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. During the month-and-a-half program, each of the three tested vehicles covered over 15 thousand kilometers.
The main objectives of the tests were to evaluate the effective start and driving performance, calibrate the electronic engine control systems, and check the operation of the OBD on-board diagnostics in low-temperature conditions, reaching −27 °C.
All systems worked without any issues both during the tests and along the route from Ulyanovsk to Noyabrsk, which was about 2.5 thousand km long, and all three cars covered it on their own.
The tests were carried out both in urban conditions and on country roads, with different speed and temperature regimes, with and without load. The engines showed effective operation in low-temperature conditions, as well as the absence of jerks and "dips" when driving with an unheated engine.
Earlier www1.ru reported that UAZ Patriot will receive a 2.0-liter diesel engine and an "automatic" transmission.
