KMZ will start production of specialized bridge cranes for the cosmodrome in Mirny. By order of PPK "Military Construction Company", the plant will equip one of the site's facilities with four double-girder overhead cranes.
They differ from conventional equipment in their ability to operate in specific conditions. The cranes can be used for moving ferromagnetic loads (capable of retaining magnetic properties even after the external magnetic field is removed), nuclear fuel, in steelmaking and hydraulic structures.
The company's press service reported that employees carry out strict control at all stages of production. This allows the plant to minimize the number of defective parts.
The Plesetsk Cosmodrome, built in Soviet times, is located in Mirny. Part of the Russian space program is implemented at this site.
