The Russian-Indian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace has completed the preliminary design phase of a lightweight modification of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile — BrahMos MA, and is preparing documentation for it, according to BrahMos Aerospace Managing Director Alexander Maksimchev.
According to him, the documentation for the new version of the missile is currently being developed.
After its approval, a test will be conducted. Once everything is confirmed, after all stages, the assembly of flight articles for flight tests can begin.
BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile developed by the Russian enterprise "NPO Mashinostroyenia" and the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation. The first test launch took place in 2001.
Various versions of the missile are in service with the Indian Air Force, Navy, and Army. The joint venture offers these missiles for export to third countries. The Philippines became the first foreign customer.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the jam-resistant "Boomerang-10" kamikaze drone has been delivered to the Russian army.
