AvtoVAZ plans to start producing Lada electric vehicles in Ethiopia, according to the Ethiopian Ambassador to Moscow, Genet Teshome Jirru.
Regarding Lada, the Ethiopian government's policy is now focused on the use of electric vehicles, especially in the passenger car class. Therefore, it is important for us that Lada is currently considering switching to their production.
The project is planned to be implemented by the end of this year.
Jirru expressed confidence that Russian cars would be in demand in the African market.
The old Lada "Zhiguli" is well known in our country and is still used in some places. So these cars will not need additional advertising, as they are already well known in the Ethiopian market.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ will launch production of Lada Niva Sport and update Lada Vesta.
