In the summer of 2025, sea trials of the heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser (TARKR) "Admiral Nakhimov" Project 11442M will begin after a lengthy refit. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev spoke about the weapons the ship will receive after returning to service.
According to him, the anti-aircraft missile architecture of the cruiser will be represented by four automated combat modules "Pantsir-M" with 16 target channels and a "Redut" module with eight vertical launchers, as well as a new radar guidance station 1RS-3E based on reflective phased array antennas.
The fire performance of all complexes can exceed 70 simultaneously intercepted air and space attack weapons of the enemy per minute.
It is expected that the "Nakhimov" will have at least eight 3S-14 launchers of the 3M-54 "Caliber-NK", P-800 "Onyx" and 3M-22 "Zircon" universal missile system, with a total of 80 to 160 missiles.
The cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" has been under repair since 1999. The main result of the cruiser's modernization will be the strengthening of its strike power.
