The newest Project 12700 Alexandrite-class minesweeper "Petr Ilyichev" of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) conducted a shipboard exercise on organizing the protection and defense of the ship in the unprotected roadstead of Avacha Bay in Kamchatka. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The ship's crew practiced elements of naval training, tasks for mine defense of the ship, and anti-submarine sabotage defense.

The military sailors paid special attention to protection against air unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned surface vehicles (BECs) of a mock enemy. Machine gun crews practiced target reconnaissance, distribution, and transfer of fire.

Project 12700 minesweepers are designed to search for and destroy mines in the waters of naval bases at a safe distance for the ship. The warship has a unique, the world's largest hull made of monolithic fiberglass, formed by vacuum infusion.

The onboard artillery armament of Project 12700 minesweepers is represented by a six-barreled AK-306 artillery system with a caliber of 30-mm (1500 rounds) and a naval pedestal machine gun mount (MPTU) with a caliber of 14.5-mm (KPVT machine gun).
