New buckshot cartridges of 7.62x39 mm caliber have been developed for the Russian military to destroy drones. Instead of a metal part, they have a 3D-printed hollow bullet filled with buckshot.
The 7.62 cartridge was chosen due to its larger caliber compared to 5.45, which allows for an increased buckshot load.
Soldiers use the cartridges with the Simonov self-loading carbine. The effective range can reach 30-50 m.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Saudi Arabia was interested in the Russian Pantsir-S1M SAM system.
