Automated road roller with the "Prometheus" complex developed in Rostec

The "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of Rostec) and the "R.O.S.ASPHALT" association are developing an automated road roller for road works. Tests of the experimental model will begin in 2025. This was reported by the holding's press service.

The special equipment was created on the basis of a vibratory double-drum roller manufactured by "Раскат" company. The main "know-how" of the road machine is the "Prometheus" software and hardware complex, developed by specialists from VNII "Signal".

The operator can control the roller with a joystick or switch to autonomous mode.

The General Director of VNII "Signal", Vladimir Pimenov, called the creation of "Prometheus" an important step in the automation of the road construction industry. With its help, special equipment will be able to work continuously, which will reduce the time for construction and repair of roads.
