KamAZ Started Production of Anti-Sanction Three-Axle Tractors

The KamAZ-65955 tractor unit received a powerful 560 hp engine

KamAZ has started producing KamAZ-65955 three-axle tractor units in an anti-sanction version. The vehicles are entirely composed of components from domestic production or friendly countries.

The heavy truck is designed for operation as part of a road train with a trailer. The first prototypes were assembled in mid-2024. In 2024, 59 vehicles were produced, and the assembly of 360 such tractors is planned for 2025.

Artem Osipov, Deputy Head of the Vehicle Assembly Efficiency Analysis Department, noted that the vehicle's design does not differ much from the KamAZ-65952 all-wheel drive dump truck. The most time-consuming operation was attaching the transfer case, which caused the conveyor to stop for 18 minutes.

The anti-sanction KamAZ-65955 received a more powerful 560 hp engine, and there are configurations with both a dual-circuit power steering and an electric power steering. Engineers replaced the gearbox, pneumatic equipment, and transfer case.

For greater smoothness and stability, a five-leaf spring was installed on the front suspension of the tractor. To increase load capacity and reliability, the rear suspension of the heavy truck was also reinforced.
