Tikhoretsk Machine-Building Plant (TMZ) announced the development of new rolling stock for the maintenance of the high-speed railway line (HSR-1) Moscow – St. Petersburg. The commissioning of the first section of the railway track is scheduled for April 1, 2028.
The machine will include an isolated mounting platform, a crane-manipulator unit and a device for positioning contact network wires. The base of the running gear will provide for the placement of a complex for assessing the condition of the contact network using measuring and diagnostic systems.
The length of the new railcar is 23.1 meters. It will be equipped with two diesel generator sets with a capacity of 400 kW and 200 kW. The design speed of the rolling stock is 120 km/h.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the first prototype train for HSR will be presented in late 2026 - early 2027.
