Special cameras that will measure the noise level of cars and motorcycles are being prepared for installation in Moscow. «Efir» can measure noise in the range from 60 to 120 dB. The device was developed by «ITB Soft».
The camera, called «Efir,» with four microphones, detects vehicles with loud music or excessive exhaust noise. Fines for exceeding the noise level will range from 5 to 30 thousand rubles.
Standards for the permissible noise level have not yet been defined. To start the system, it is necessary to amend the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. For now, locations for the cameras will be sought, and they will operate in test mode.
After the amendments to the legislation are adopted, the Moscow authorities will approve the maximum noise levels for different times of the day. The exact timing of the system's implementation depends on the approval of all regulatory acts.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia has begun to fight against noisy drivers.
