Solar panels with elements on sapphire substrate to be developed in Stavropol

Production costs of batteries are planned to be reduced tenfold

Solar panels with elements on sapphire substrates will be developed at the North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU). This was reported by the press service of the university.

The solar panels will be created by order of a major Russian developer and manufacturer of integrated security systems, special equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Our idea is to develop and manufacture technological equipment for the production of elements for solar panels based on domestic developments. This will reduce the cost of production tenfold, and the enterprise will receive not only the final product itself, but also the ability to manufacture it independently.
Igor Sysoev, Director of the Scientific and Educational Center for Photovoltaics and Nanotechnologies of NCFU

Currently, specialists are preparing a laboratory installation. A pilot battery will be created on its basis.

Earlier www1.ru reported that new solar panels were developed in St. Petersburg.
