Russian automaker KamAZ took second place in sales of heavy-duty trucks in the country in 2024, losing its leadership for the first time. The market was topped by the Chinese brand Sitrak.
In total, 102,000 new heavy-duty trucks were sold in Russia last year, which is 18.8% less than in 2023. This segment includes vehicles weighing over 16 tons.
Almost a fifth (19%) of the Russian market was accounted for by Sitrak — about 19,400 units. It is followed by KamAZ (17,300) and three Chinese brands — Shacman (15,700), FAW (11,600) and Dongfeng (8,300).
In the top ten leading brands, sales of Dongfeng (+99.8%) and Sany (+77.4%) heavy-duty trucks also increased over the year. At the same time, the remaining brands showed a decline, with Foton experiencing a deep fall (-56.8%).
