VEB.RF will finance the new production of "Element" PJSC, which will produce civilian power microelectronics components. The Supervisory Board has already decided on VEB.RF's participation in the project. "Element" PJSC will receive 15 billion rubles under the "Cluster Investment Platform" program. The total cost of launching production is estimated at 19.5 billion rubles.
The plant will be the first large-scale serial production of power diode and transistor crystals based on silicon and silicon carbide in Russia. It will produce up to 140 thousand wafers based on silicon and silicon carbide per year.
This will make it possible to increase the volume of Russian production of power microelectronics from the current 2% to 70% in the next six years and increase the level of localization of the power electronic component base.
"Element" PJSC is the only Russian manufacturer of full-cycle microcircuits, which covers the entire chain of their creation: from equipment to the development and production of microcircuits and end equipment.
The "Element" Group includes more than thirty enterprises for the development and production of integrated microcircuits, semiconductor devices, power electronics, modules, packages for microcircuits, and radio-electronic equipment.
