The second phase of integration of the payment systems of Russia and Iran is planned to be completed by June 30, 2025. The implementation of the project will allow Mir card holders to use them on Iranian territory to pay for goods and services. This was announced by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, Kazem Jalali.
The third stage, when Iranian citizens will be able to pay for purchases with their cards in Russia, is planned to be launched in the second half of 2025.
In November 2024, the Russian payment system Mir was connected to the Iranian Shetab. This made it possible to withdraw cash in rubles from Iranian cards on the territory of Russia.
