The Government of the Russian Federation has allocated 5 billion rubles from the federal budget to support preferential leasing of sea and river vessels. The measure is aimed at developing Russian shipping and strengthening transport infrastructure.
The funds are intended to be used for the construction of at least 33 civilian vessels, which will then be transferred to transport companies through the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) in 2025-2026.
The lease will be provided for a period of up to 25 years with a preferential interest rate of 2.93% per annum.
The investment project for the construction of vessels for subsequent leasing was launched in 2023. In 2024, GTLK has already delivered 36 vessels to its clients, and it is planned to build 260 vessels by 2027, including passenger, fishing, cargo and large-capacity vessels.
