Russia to raise the recycling fee from January 1, 2025

The rate will be indexed by 10-20% annually

From January 1, 2025, new changes to the recycling fee will come into force in Russia. The amount of the increase for passenger cars will depend on the engine capacity, and for freight transport - on its age and weight.

The decree of the Russian government envisages a phased indexation of the recycling fee until 2030. Now, starting from January 1 of each year, the rates of the recycling fee (for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and trucks, buses, trailers and semi-trailers) will be indexed by 10-20%.

The changes will not affect the preferential coefficients for individuals who import cars with an engine capacity of up to 3 liters for personal use. Indexation of the recycling fee is also provided for road construction equipment from January 1, 2025, with an annual increase of 15%. However, for some types of specialized equipment of domestic production, indexation will be postponed until 2026 and 2028.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the consequences of raising the recycling fee cannot be avoided.
