Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to accelerate the development of unmanned aviation in order to provide the country with technological leadership in this industry. He gave the corresponding instruction following a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.
The Government of the Russian Federation shall ensure the accelerated development of the unmanned aviation industry in order to achieve technological leadership in this industry, paying special attention to indicators characterizing the volume of the Russian market and the production of unmanned aircraft systems.
Putin also instructed the Cabinet to make decisions aimed at stimulating the development of autonomous intelligent transport systems in Russia. The execution of the order, among other things, involves the formation of a regulatory framework for the accelerated development of such systems.
